hello!

My name is Michelle Lee Berry.  I am a self-taught freelance artist and writer with an insatiable craving for good books and an endless curiosity. As George Foreman aptly put it, "I get up in the morning looking for adventure!"

When I was little, I would hole up in my room and draw for hours and hours. Every day when my mom asked to see my drawings, I would inform her that I had thrown everything away. By the time I finally gained the confidence to show others my work, I knew that art was something I would love for life.

Since then, this hobby, as well as a penchant for good storytelling, has ushered me into the writing and illustrating field. So naturally, I majored in English (with a Creative Writing concentration) at the best college in the world--- also known as UCLA.

After graduating from UCLA, I went straight to grad school at Cal to pursue a teaching career. My experiences in the classroom challenged me to apply my creativity in completely new ways, streamline and specialize my writing skills, and build incredible, life-changing relationships with my students and colleagues.

Equipped with and emboldened by these experiences, I am now turning towards another career path in order to further pursue my love of applying creativity toward projects grounded in effecting positive change.

I always believe that behind every great story and piece of artwork is a genuine love for the craft. It is my philosophy to put every ounce of my heart and effort into my work. I thrive under creative freedom, where my imagination is free to soar... and soar it certainly does.
